
1945
Giulio Andrea Meroni founds Serrature Meroni, a small workshop in the heart of the Italian furniture industry, in Lissone. It quickly becomes an industrial reality with a clear and forward-looking business vision. Meroni starts manufacturing furniture locks for the domestic market and not only. As a result of the business trip to North Africa, the company acquires its first foreign market. This period sees the birth of the elephant logo, initially intended to be a familiar image for the African market but after various restylings, it is still characterizing Meroni’s brand.

1954
In ten years, the international vocation of the company takes a decisive direction: Serrature Meroni signes with the American company Dexter Inc. an important agreement for the development and marketing of new products for the European market. In these years the company grows quickly and moves to Nova Milanese, in a new and larger building, the company headquarters until 2007.

1966
Giulio Andrea Meroni is awarded with the important “PREMIO NAZIONALE MERCURIO D’ORO”, the Trade Oscar, dedicated to the well-deserving of the productive and economic cooperation development.

1973
After years of continuous expansion into the world of furniture locks production, Meroni enters and upsets the world of door locks. The PremiApri Nova is a pioneer, an exclusive patent destinated to a huge commercial success, selected for important awards, such as the Compasso d’Oro of the Industrial Design Association in 1979.

1976
The Spanish branch Cerraval – Cerrajera Valenciana is based in Valencia, Spain. Today, Meroni España, deals with distribution of all Meroni products in the Spanish market .

1980
The 80’s mark an important technological breakthrough that involves design and production. The first revolution sees the introduction of the CAD (Computer Aided Design) in product design, while the second one sees enhancements in the production thanks to state-of-the-art robotic systems.

1990
The well-established technological development, the mature and solid structure, enable the company to obtain ISO 9002 quality system certification, the bases for an organizational improvement aimed to offer the utmost benefit to customers. In 2001, the ISO certification is updated and adapted to the ISO 9001: 2000 new standards.

2003
A leading Italian private equity company enters into the corporate structure. It is specialized in supporting medium-sized national companies of the old economy. A moment of great importance in the company business life.

2004
The expansion and acquisition process continues: OPEN-Cas and Hunit companies and trademarks converge in the Meroni Group.

2005
Celebration of Serrature Meroni’s 60 years in business.

2006
Massimo Margareci appointed as Chief Executive Officer.

2014
A revolution in the corporate structure. The company is acquired by a group of workers, along with the third generation of the Meroni family and the new Thai partner.
The operation marks a new impetus to the company.
